Aisling Douglas
Digital Product Manager

I have worn many hats over the course of my career so far. If you asked me to describe myself, I'd say I'm a Digital Product Manager. I've had the title Technical Project Manager, Web Developer, UX/UI Designer, Information Architect, UX Lead and more. While all of those titles are different, they do have similar threads - understanding the product throughout the development process, advocating for end-users, catering to business needs, liaising with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external), and collaborating with multiple specialty teams.

What I truly pride myself on is being a translator in the tech world - facilitating communication between engineers, business personnel, creative teams and those who see technology as something foreign. My journey began as a developer, and eventually I began to design out of my need for creativity. What I learned, however, is that design can never be limited to strictly visual art. Design is functional and purposeful. Knowing this about design is what lead me to study UX (user experience). In fact, it was the key to unlocking my potential and future career.

User experience is more than just a buzzword. It's user-fed, data-driven facts that assist digital teams in building products that work and that matter. UX is the difference between project completion and product success. This simple distinction is what drives me. It pushes me to make information based decisions in the projects that I lead, no matter my title.

Now that you've learned a bit about me, feel free to take a look around or drop me a line if you'd like to chat.
